OUR STORY
A page all about us!!

The Accessory Studio is a family run business that started in October 1993. Courtney Was 17 and a senior in high school when the choir that she was a member of was going on a cruise to the Bahamas. Knowing full well that her parents couldn't afford to send her after paying thousands for a private education she decided to make things and sell them at local craft fairs. She worked in a fabric store and was filled with idea of things that could earn her enough money to pay her own way. She started " The Accessory Studio" selling hair scrunchies, painted sweat shirts, neck pillows, pen holders, and button covers. Soon, by early 1994 we started making jewelry. We started the way everyone usually does, regular plain beads strung on wire, good, but BORING.

We have designed and made Mother's Bracelets since 1995 and still continue to do so. They are made with 14k gold fill and sterling silver. They are strung on wire and all have a clasp.

In 2002 we began developing another facet to our business....Elastic Bangle Bracelets. Never seen before, they were an instant hit, with us routinely selling out at nearly every craft fair we do. We kept our prices the same and added many more shows to get them out into the public as much as we could.

The family business is composed of Master Designers Courtney Krewson-Catlow and Sally Krewson, also mother and daughter, and husbands, John Catlow and Keith Krewson. Son/Uncle/Brother offers much advice too! I also have 4 kids, Alysabeth (8), Allexandrya(7), and Grace(6), and Caden(2).

We couldn't make it through each week without having the product that Grandma/Great Grandma, Betty Courtney, makes. Grandma will do anything we ask of her, and we ask a lot sometimes. Grandma made nearly 1,500 bracelets for us for Covered Bridge to get ready...at 86 she puts us to shame!

What makes us unique is that we all work together as a team, we make all of our products within our family and we are bucking the trend of all of the buy and sell things that are sold at craft fairs. We wouldn't be able to work from home and raise my kids if it wasn't for the people who continue to make our craft fairs and our product successful.

Thank you SO MUCH to all of our repeat customers, we enjoy so much how you follow us from show to show and buy everything new! We know there are other people you can buy from and we very much appreciate that you pick us!
